Get to know us … Day 5

It’s been a bit since we last wrote. Happy Thanksgiving by the way. Hope you had a great holiday with family, friends, lots of food and good pie. Did you know that the Horrmann’s love pie? Cause we do.

We’re working on some stellar posts — we swear. But in the mean time — it’s on to Day 5 of getting to know us.

Day 5: Favorite Quote

Erick:

I’m going funny. You can read on to what Courtney says below — and I’m totally with her. But it’s about getting to know us, and I interpreted “favorite quote” a little differently. As you know (from reading “Day 3”) one of my favorite shows is “The Office”. I have found it littered with hilarious quotes over the past few years. It was tough to find just the right quote (or exchange of quotes) that I would be willing to slap “favorite” on, but I gave it a go.

Ryan Howard: “Did this happen on company property?”
Michael Scott: “It was on company property, with company property. So, double jeopardy, we’re fine.”
Ryan: “I don’t think — I don’t think you understand how jeopardy works.”
Michael: “Oh, I’m sorry. What is, ‘we’re fine’?

Courtney:

I don’t have a lot of favorite quotes. I know it’s a trendy thing to write out “inspirational quotes” and throw them all up on your facebook wall, but that’s just not me.

The greatest resource of inspiration for how we should live our lives is the Bible. What’s my favorite Bible verse, you may ask? I have many — for many different reasons — but I’m in an excited mood, and here’s one that just gets me feeling ready to take on the world:

“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him.” – 1 Corinthians 2:9

Now Paul is referencing what Isaiah wrote in 64:4 — but I love how he words it in 1 Corinthians. I’m excited to see and experience where God leads me. I can try to imagine my future for myself — but what I think up will be nowhere near as amazing as what God has in store.

Post that on your wall.
