Day 13: A Fiction Book
Erick:
“The Lord of the Rings” by J.R.R. Tolkien
Okay okay, I know LOTR is a series not “a book” but sorry, I think of it as one book. Hey, my friend John had to read all 3 for our high school “senior paper” (which was a literary analysis on “a book”). If scholastically it counts as one book, it does here too. :-P.
I read “The Hobbit” in 4th grade and was hooked in both the genre as well as Tolkien. Then I finished the series in 7th grade. Brilliant author. And buddies with C.S. Lewis, which is just funny.
Courtney:
“The Chronicles of Narnia” by C.S. Lewis
I know “The Chronicles of Narnia” isn’t just one book, it’s actually a series of seven novels, but you all know I’m a rebel. And for the sake of this post, I’m gonna say it’s just one.
These stories are full of journeys to the end of the world, fantastic creatures, and epic battles between good and evil — what more could you want, really?! These stories have captivated my heart. My favorite story of course is, “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.” But they’re all wonderful in their own way.
I love C.S. Lewis.
Just for the record, I got Chronicles of Narnia for Christmas…..in one book. So therefore, it is officially one book. However, my Lord of the Rings is in a 4-book boxed set, sorry Erick…. 😉 haha
