50 in, 50 to go

As full-time staff with Campus Crusade, we raise our own financial support. Many of you knew this already, but if you didn’t, you do now. 🙂

Now, we’re going to be honest here.  There were times in these past 17 months of support raising that were less than enjoyable. We grew weary. We didn’t want to make another phone call, send another letter, or meet with another stranger.

There were times, when we didn’t see the results we wanted to see, we would call out to God like David did in Psalm 13 — “How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?”

But the Lord, in His infinite wisdom, has us here for a reason and we praise and honor Him for that. And we know that He is preparing us for the work He has called us to do. As James says in chapter one — “…know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.”

Steadfastness = a life of faithful endurance amid troubles and afflictions.

Life on this earth is hard. If this season of our lives will bring “faithful endurance” to us in the future struggles we’re guaranteed to face — then we submit to the Lord. He knows us better than we do.

This is a call for prayer. We raised 50 percent of our financial need. We have 50 percent more to go.

We asked the Lord for March 15 to be the date we finish this support. Will we finish by that time? We don’t know. But it’s our desire to be done, and we’re going to ask Him to answer our prayer.

Please be praying with us as we continue on in faith toward our goal.

“But I have trusted in your steadfast love;
my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
I will sing to the LORD,
because he has dealt bountifully with me.”

– Psalm 13:5-6
